Core 2 Quad sendiri adalah generasi lanjutan setalah Core 2 Duo. Dengan tetap menggunakan fitur-fitur pada generasi sebelumnya, ditambah jumlah core (menjadi 4), Cache Memory dan FSB yang mencapai 1333Mhz membuat Core 2 Quad menjadi rajanya processor untuk saat ini. Hal tersebut bisa dilihat dari hasil benchmark menggunakan PCMark 05 Pro dibawah ini :
Performa seperti ini tentu diikuti dengan harga yang lumayan wah, untuk C2Q Q6600 (FSB 1066MHz, Cache 8MB, 2.4Ghz) saja harganya masih dibandrol sekitar $290, sementara untuk C2Q Extreme QX6850 (FSB 1333Mhz, Cache 8MB, 3.0Ghz) dihargai sekitar $1100 atau sekitar sepuluh juta rupiah, so siapa yang minat?
